Sonia gets back at Anna, says no need for uproar

UPA chairperson and Congress President Sonia Gandhi said there cannot be double take on corruption. Sonia asserted UPA government was committed to introduce strong Lokpal bill and therefore there was no reason to make an uproar over it. “We have already started process for making stronger Lokpal and it will be introduced in the House soon” said Congress president Sonia Gandhi in a written speech that was read out by Party MP Vijay Bahuguna at Gauchar in Uttarakhand on Wednesday.

Sonia was supposed to lay foundation stone of the Rishikesh – Karnprayag railway project and address a party rally but she could not reach hill state due to health reason.
Sonia added that there cannot be double standard on corruption. “Our corruption is sacred and others in bad…this theory is not acceptable” Sonia was quoted without naming anyone.
A large number of people were present at Gauchar ground to hear Sonia. Congress leader was expected to kick start election campaign in the hill state which goes to poll early next year.
Congress president was quoted at saying that she was instrumental in introducing right to information act. “I want to ask who introduced RTI” she questioned. She also claimed that government was doing best to control price rise despite global pressures.
Earlier union railway minister Dinesh Trivedi and defene minister AK Antony laid foundation stone of Rishikesh Karnprayag railway project that will connect 13 stations in the Garhwal hills.
